Whilst in neighbouring Rushmoor, Aldershot is known as Home of the British Army, here in Surrey Heath, we also have a substantial military presence, including the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMA).

Armed Forces personnel with families have access to service family accommodation (SFA), these are the responsibility of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO). The DIO use contractors to maintain these properties, however, the response by Pinnacle SF and VIVO Defence to the concerns raised by service families over the poor state of some these properties has been inadequate.

Michael Gove MP is acutely aware of the issues service families here in Surrey Heath have been facing, and has raising concerns with the Secretary of State for Defence, Ben Wallace MP and the Minister for Defence Procurement, Alex Chalk MP.

Commenting, Michael said:

It’s clear that far too many service families are in housing which is inadequate, and I am grateful to the Minister for Defence Procurement, Alex Chalk MP, for taking action on this important issue."
