The new Community Sports Pavilion on the Green in Pirbright has officially opened.
Construction of the pavilion has been possible thanks to the support of the local schools, ATC Pirbright, local businesses and organisations, Pirbright Parish Council, Cllrs Keith Witham and David Bilbe, and a grant of £300,000 for the building through Surrey County Council's Your Fund Surrey.
Commenting, Cllr Keith Witham said:
"I was truly delighted to attend the official opening today of the new Pirbright Community Sports Pavilion on The Green, Pirbright, attended by the Chairman of Surrey County Council, the Mayor of Guildford, the MP for Woking and the SCC Cabinet Member for Communities. The proceedings were presided over by Steve Fidgett, Chairman of Pirbright Parish Council.
"Surrey County Council gave a £300,000 grant for the project from the 'Your Fund Surrey'.
"A special mention to Derek Bytheway RIP, who was so instrumental in the project."
