Following concerns raised by residents and businesses about the very poor state of the parking bays along Gosden Road, West End, the Parish Council used its funds to carry out work to prevent the bay from deteriorating further.
Whilst responsibility and maintenance of highways lies with Surrey County Council (SCC), the parking bays along Gosden Road had been deemed of insufficient priority to be addressed, with works not scheduled for some time.
The Parish Council therefore decided to use some of the modest income it generates to address the problem and improve the bays for villagers, as these are well-used and a prominent part of the village.
