Despite the reduction of the speed limit along London Road, A30, through Bagshot from 40mph to 30mph, speeding vehicles remain a problem.

Michael Gove MP met with Cllr Richard Tear, Surrey County Councillor for Bagshot, Windlesham and Chobham, to discuss concerns about speeding traffic and what measures can be put in place to resolve this problem.

Regular police patrols and speed enforcement operations, by Surrey Police's Vanguard Road Safety Team, are helping to address this issue, however, residents report that cars and HGVs are still speeding up and down the hill.

Michael has been in contact with the Borough Commander for Surrey Heath about the speeding issues, and looking at the feasibility of installing a permanent speed camera to help discourage speeding.

Commenting, Michael said:

“I am pleased to report that my request has now been passed to the Safer Camera Partnership, and I hope to hear positive news soon on this. I will provide a further update in due course.”
