Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) have re-launched their Community Risk Management Plan for 2025-2030 and are asking residents to have their say on the proposals to help shape the future of the brigade.
The draft plan, paused during the pre-election period, outlines how SFRS intends to respond to risks within the county in order to protect communities from harm over the five-year period of 2-25 to 2030.
The Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) intends to implement the proposed changes in three segments, the most significant of which for Surrey Heath is the first proposal which intends to relocate an appliance from Camberley Fire Station to Spelthorne Fire Station in Ashford, Middlesex, or to a fire station within the Borough of Elmbridge. Currently, Camberley has two appliances at the station, in addition to two specialist wildfire vehicles.
The reason behind this is to reflect the risk and demand within Spelthorne and Elmbridge, as this is greater in both these areas than Surrey Heath. However, in the summer wildfire season, Camberley will receive additional resources, as outlined within the second proposal of the CRMP.

"Surrey Fire & Rescue Service (SFRS) has a statutory requirement to produce a Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP). The CRMP identifies and assesses all current and future fire and rescue related risks within our county and ensures that measures are in place to mitigate against these risks. As we approach the end of the current plan, the Making Surrey Safer Plan, SFRS are now developing their CRMP 2025-2030.
