Frimley Park Hospital: False Claims by the Lib Dems & Setting the Record Straight
Residents in Heatherside and Parkside may recently have received a letter making claims about the future of Frimley Park Hospital and the Frimley Fuel Allotments (FFA) site.
We want to address this clearly and factually.
A Claim That Is Simply Not True
The letter states:
“We know Conservatives are supportive of building a hospital on this final piece of Frimley Common…”
This is factually incorrect.

Surrey Heath Conservatives have been clear and consistent:
- We are not supporting any specific site
- We are not campaigning for development on the FFA site
- We support a rigorous, evidence-led process to determine the right location
Our full position has already been set out here:

The Actual Position
The facts are straightforward:
- No final site has been decided
- The NHS site selection process is ongoing
- All shortlisted sites are still under active consideration
- A preferred site is expected to be announced in June 2026
This has been confirmed both publicly and in writing by the Minister of State for Health.
Any suggestion that a final decision has already been made — or that Conservatives are backing a specific site — is simply wrong.
What This Election Is Really About
We understand why residents feel strongly about this issue, particularly where local green space is concerned.
These are important issues.
It is important that positions are represented accurately, particularly during an election campaign.
This is a £1.5–2 billion investment in local healthcare. It must be decided properly — based on:
- Clinical need
- Patient access
- Infrastructure and transport
- Deliverability
- Value for taxpayers
Not political speculation.
Our Commitment
Surrey Heath Conservatives are committed to:
- Supporting the delivery of a new, modern hospital
- Ensuring the decision is based on evidence, not politics
- Holding the process to proper scrutiny and transparency
- Representing residents’ concerns responsibly
We will not prejudge the outcome — and we will not mislead residents.
Residents Deserve Better Than This
As the election approaches, residents will see strong claims and campaigning messages.
We believe the public deserves accurate information, not statements that do not reflect the facts.
The position remains clear:
No final decision has been made.
No site has been selected.
And we are not supporting any specific location.
Residents deserve facts — not speculation.
